Dacryocystography is a diagnostic test that combines the use of X-rays and the administration of a contrast to view the structure and shape of the tear ducts and sacs more clearly. 

The contrast follows the route of the tear ducts with greater precision and can detect any tear duct blockages, which can cause excessive tearing, recurrent conjunctivitis and painful inflammation of the inner corner of the eye, among other symptoms.
